My name is Reaksmey, and I would like to share what I like about Onyx program: breakfast together, snacks, the environment, and interesting lessons from Onyx Saturday class. After I studied for a while at Onyx, I saw myself change. It was Onyx that enabled me to change and expand my thinking it helped me to see the other part of the world, and especially helped me evaluate my relationship with God, to see it more clearly. The Block Lesson I liked most is the Timeline lesson and Personal Spiritual Formation. The Timeline lesson helped me to learn about the testimonies and personal biographies of each person in the class who came from different backgrounds and places. I saw and understood how God prepared and leads their lives, and the most special thing is that I can listen to their life story, and it showed me that our lives are like a puzzle, and each part of puzzle is a part of our life story that happens in our life and all those many parts make up God’s plan for us. God allows us to experience hard situations, to move us from one phase of life to other, changing what we might have thought his plan for us in future, and He shapes us to be stronger, too, through adversity. When the right time comes, then we will understand his ways, his heart, and his plans for us. The Block lesson is PSF, a lesson that can heal us and bring us to be closer to Him and have a good relationship with Him through many different ways that we never knew about before. And my favourite part in this Block is Shalom because this lesson allows me to know more God’s will for me and for others. I can see how much God loves me, and how he never wants to see me in pain. What motivates me to study Onyx and finish well is my own personal motto:
“I will never start something without finishing it well.” Even when this class is hard and I sometimes feel tired, I still commit myself to the task and finish it. What I learned from the Onyx Lessons I plan to apply in my life, especially the Critical Thinking Block, because I see that it is useful to change my thinking from simple level to a deeper level, to see the root causes rather than the symptoms problem things happen. When I do this, I can find a proper solution as well. I want the Onyx teachers, students and helpers, please, to pray for me and for other the Onyx students to bring to mind what we had learned from this program and to apply it in our daily lives, and pray that we can find God’s will for what He wants us to do next after finishing this program.
